Blades of Exile: Itch Edition

Open Blades of Exile is a modern port and update of the 1997 cult-classic RPG, Blades of Exile. This project breathes new life into a beloved game, making it accessible to a new generation of players while preserving the charm, depth, and custom scenario support that made the original so great.

• Faithful Recreation: Experience the original game's rich storylines and intricate world, now running smoothly on modern systems.

• Cross-Platform Compatibility: Play on Windows or MacOS. (Linux is supported too but requires compiling by yourself, for now.)

• Custom Scenarios: Play a vast number of adventures created in the game's heyday with the powerful scenario editor - the heart of what made Blades of Exile legendary.
  

• Open-Source Development: Ongoing community contributions and modifications.

Open Blades of Exile supports the three built-in scenarios of the original game:

• The Valley of Dying Things
• A Small Rebellion
• The Za-Khazi Run

We are also currently working to support as many legacy community scenarios as we can, too.

Create Your Own Worlds

Blades of Exile's robust scenario editor allowed users to craft our own adventures, complete with unique stories and custom graphics. We plan to bring the scenario editor back up to speed with modern systems once the core game is more stable.
